That's all, folks! A Feast of Serendib Kickstarter is officially closed! 367 backers pledged $16,548 to help bring this project to life -- thank you thank you thank you.
There are more production notes to come, add-on surveys to send out (within a week, hopefully), launch parties to plan, etc. and so on, but right now, SLEEP. It's been a little frantic here the last month, especially the last few days, and right now, I need to collapse a little. :-)

$15K! Videos!

Aw, you guys. We broke $15,000, which means that you have forced me to make videos. Happy elephant says thank you!!! I will have to get over my self-consciousness about the whole endeavor.
I will try to make them interesting, informative, and maybe even charming (Kavi will help with that last bit). I'm thinking it would be much more fun if I can have guests for the videos, so instead of just talking to a camera, I'm talking to the person next to me, showing them how to do stuff. Yes?

Local friends, do you want to STAR in a cooking instructional video? Let me know. :-) It shouldn't take more than 30 minutes of your time, we can be very flexible on schedule, and I will FEED you and give you a cookbook and some curry powder to take away with you!

Adding a hardcover Feast book sampler + more add-ons

Quick note that I've gotten some requests for a hardcover version of the book sampler, so I've added it. Ask, and ye shall receive! For $75, you can pick up the hardcover of Feast, the hardcover of Bodies in Motion, and trade paperbacks of Perennial and The Stars Change, all signed.
I'm also in the midst of setting up some add-ons through BackerKit, so expect the chance to pick up a batch of marshmallows or milk toffee, some handmade soaps or botanical bookmarks, Feast greeting cards / postcards / stickers, and individual books. We'll survey you after the Kickstarter ends tonight (TONIGHT!), and see if you'd like any additional items, all discounted from retail price. :-)

I have a question! I promised 24 postcard photos to Kickstarter backers, and will likely also have them available for sale afterwards, suitable for mailing or framing. I'm not sure whether to do just food photos, or include photos I took in Sri Lanka as well? What do you think? Comments welcome, and/or you can 'like' the ones you think I should include!

Just a quick update to note that we've just broken 400 backers -- terrific! It's a little unclear if we'll make the final stretch goal, at just about $13,400, I don't know if we'll make it to $15K. Maybe? So if you'd like those cooking demo videos, this would be a great time to tell your friends and family about the project. :-) Regardless, great to be in the home stretch!
And here's a little treat -- I've finalized the 125 (!) photos for the eBook, and they're all available to browse here on my Facebook wall. Something to whet your appetite...
